Prince Joachim, who is the Defense Industry Attaché at the Danish Embassy in Washington, D.C., has welcomed Vivian Motzfeldt (S), Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greenland, to the American federal capital.
This is evident from a post on X that Denmark's ambassador to the United States, Jesper Møller Sørensen, shared on Tuesday evening.
The ambassador also shares a photo where Prince Joachim and Vivian Motzfeldt can be seen together with himself and Jacob Isbosethsen, who is Greenland's head of mission in the United States.
Vivian Motzfeldt arrives in Washington D.C., ahead of Denmark and Greenland meeting with the United States at the White House on Wednesday.
From the side of the Danish Commonwealth, in addition to Motzfeldt, Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen (M) will also participate.
The meeting is hosted by US Vice President J.D. Vance, and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is also attending.
"Greenland does not want to be owned, governed, or part of the United States. We choose the Greenland we know today - as part of the Kingdom of Denmark," Motzfeldt is quoted as saying in the post.
