The wildfire that broke out in Nanortalik on Tuesday afternoon is now extinguished.
This is according to Thorvald Madsen, who is the emergency services inspector in Nanortalik.
- We had a helicopter to put it out, he says.
He says that the fire has affected an area the size of about five football fields.
Thorvald Madsen said earlier in the day that extinguishing the fire was difficult because the fire was 200-300 meters up in steep terrain. But with the help of a helicopter it was possible.
There have been 19 firefighters and 12 volunteers who have helped put out the fire.
