Aqqalu C. Jerimiassen on state formation: It is not time

Ahead of the Inatsisartut elections on March 11, Sermitsiaq's debate host Arnaq Nielsen will invite all the party chairmen for a walk to hear about the parties' election programs.

A different conversation, where the party chairmen are allowed to go deeper into their thoughts about independence/state formation, and what the party considers most important when they go to the polls.

Jerimiassen's proposal for how Greenland can achieve statehood, where the chairman gets the opportunity to elaborate on the process the Greenlandic population is on its way to. If Greenland becomes a state and has to cooperate with the USA, there is something he fears.

- Maybe we will have a happy life for the first 20 years, but after those years we don't know where we will end up. I was in Anchorage, Alaska last year, and there I met a lot of Inuit sleeping on the streets. If we just see them, will we have such a country? Never in our lives!, says Aqqalu C. Jerimiassen.
