The police have registered three cases of drunk driving in the past 24 hours, one of which was in connection with an accident in Nuuk.
This is what shift manager Aputsiaq Hansen says.
The police were notified of the traffic accident at 9 a.m. Sunday morning. A car had hit a lamppost on H.J. Rinksvej opposite Frelsens Hæri near the bus stop.
The driver of the car was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving:
- The accident probably occurred because he fell asleep while driving due to intoxication, says Aputsiaq Hansen.
There were no major injuries in the accident.
The other two cases of drunk driving occurred in Sisimiut and another case was registered in Nuuk.
